Wolf Cub

If you meet a wolf cub, don't try to take it home, as it is difficult to raise it; as the conservation status of the species is threatened, you are more likely to see the picture, but not the animal itself. The mother delivers her pups in a den which she digs in the dirt. She can also use an old beaver lodge or log instead of a den. Pups are born blind and deaf and are very dependent on their mothers. As a rule a pack has only one litter of pups each year because only the alpha male and female are the ones that mate. These animals breed in February and March. The alpha female gives birth to 1-11 pups. If you meet a wolf cub, don't try to take it home, as it is difficult to raise it; as the conservation status of the species is threatened, you are more likely to see the picture, but not the animal itself.
